Global was contracted by a confidential customer to assist in the mitigation of a major oil spill in the Narrangansett Bay. Global was responsible for the following tasks:
- Provide manpower, boats, and heavy equipment
- Assist US Coast in deployment of oil containment booms
- Clean sides of barge while at anchorage
- Fast Action Response Team reporting directly to spill command center
- Respond to bird rescues and oil calls on bathing beaches
- Provide loader service to till rocky beaches in order to release trapped oil in subsurface at high tides
- Collect free floating oil with absorbent materials
